Where the Firm Started
The firm was never unknown. Its attorneys brought substantial Chicago family law experience, including time on the bench, and the site already carried useful legal material. The practice was busy through reputation and referrals.
The website was a separate story. In the first consultation, the attorneys said the website was producing zero calls, and the phone number displayed on the site was wrong.
After completion of Phase 1 in November, the first available baseline showed: 41 Illinois sessions and 98 sessions across the United States, with no recorded conversions. Because tracking was new, the zero-call starting point comes from the firm’s own contemporaneous account rather than from a reconstructed analytics record.
The firm’s priority was stated plainly at the outset:
“High net worth is the priority.” — Firm attorney, December 22, 2025
What We Built
The strategy ran on two tracks at once: build authority around complex divorce, which is a long and competitive decision cycle, while strengthening the family law services capable of producing qualified demand sooner.
A high net worth divorce topic system.
The first monthly batch, placed in December 2025, established a central Chicago divorce page, gave high net worth divorce its own commercial page, and connected two supporting articles on high-conflict divorce in Illinois to them.
From there the cluster expanded across the financial questions sophisticated clients research before they choose counsel: business valuation, property division and spousal support, hidden assets and forensic accounting, executive compensation, offshore accounts, real estate portfolios, tax consequences, privacy in high-profile matters, and the financial mistakes that surface in complex divorce.
A prenuptial and marital agreement lane.
We rewrote the principal prenup page and added supporting articles covering enforceability, voluntariness, maintenance waivers, child-related limits, and postnuptial agreements.
This lane connected the firm's financial depth to a service people research well before they are ready to call anyone. These kinds of cases have a shorter decision cycle, and so they became the first place the client noticed the demand move.
Ongoing improvement and amplification.
Existing pages were rewritten or relocated where structure was limiting them. Selected articles received follow-up promotion. Local search and directory work strengthened external signals, and reputation work supported the trust layer that both search engines and prospective clients rely on.
From December 2025 through July 2026 the record shows 36 placed production actions: 6 new pages, 22 articles, 5 rewrites including URL changes, 2 article boosts, and 1 local search surge. Those are placement dates. Publishing, indexing, and maturity followed over the months after.
What it produced inside the practice
“We’ve had an influx of prenups that I think has to be coming from the website. We have been getting a lot of prenup calls, which is good.” July 1, 2026
By July, one of the firm’s attorneys could point to one service where the change was visible from inside the firm:
She qualified it herself in the same conversation. Full divorce matters had stayed closer to their prior level, and the prenup increase was the fairer conclusion to draw.
That qualification is the correct reading, and it matches what the strategy predicted. Prenup visibility and demand were always going to move first. High net worth divorce sits behind a longer, more competitive, higher-consideration decision cycle, and authority there accumulates over quarters rather than weeks.
The inquiry record supports her observation. The connected mailbox holds ten website form submissions between July 8 and July 24, 2026. Eight concerned genuine legal matters and two were unrelated messages. Two of the eight concerned prenuptial agreements, with the remainder covering divorce, financial, parenting, protection, and support questions.
This describes current inquiry activity for a firm that reported zero website calls at the start. It does not establish a measured increase, because older form submissions are absent from the connected mailbox, and it does not establish that every inquiry began in organic search.
What the data shows
Website traffic. Google Analytics 4, matched 30 day windows.
Metric | Dec 1 to 30, 2025 | Jun 30 to Jul 29, 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
Organic search sessions | 116 | 194 | +67% |
Organic users | 97 | 161 | +66% |
Engaged organic sessions | 69 | 129 | +87% |
Engaged sessions grew faster than sessions overall, which means the additional visitors were staying and reading rather than leaving website. | |||
Search visibility. Google Search Console, matched 30 day windows.
Metric | Dec 1 to 30, 2025 | Jun 29 to Jul 28, 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
Google Search clicks | 104 | 132 | +27% |
Search impressions | 20,227 | 35,092 | +74% |
Average position | 43.95 | 24.31 | 19.6 positions |
The average position improved by nearly twenty places. The site now surfaces on the second and third pages for a substantially wider set of searches than it reached at the start, and the climb toward page one on the commercial terms is the current work.
The most recent quarter, reported straight. Latest 90 days against the preceding 90 days.
Metric | Change |
|---|---|
Google Search clicks | +9.5% |
Search impressions | +28.7% |
Organic sessions | 511 to 521 |
Growth has not moved at one speed. Sessions were close to flat across the most recent quarter while the impression footprint kept widening. That gap is the honest description of where this engagement sits: the site is being seen by far more people, and converting those appearances into visits and consultations is the job in front of us.

How to read these numbers
Sourcing and method, stated plainly:
- This is an observational case study covering roughly seven months, not a controlled experiment and not a finished growth story.
- The December 2025 start is anchored to the first confirmed placed monthly order batch.
- The 41 Illinois and 98 United States session figures come from the December 22, 2025 analytics discussion. They describe a newly installed analytics baseline and are reported separately from Search Console figures rather than combined with them.
- All comparisons use equal calendar windows. Google Analytics omits days with zero organic activity from its returned rows, and the reported totals cover the full stated windows.
- Search Console clicks, impressions, and average position measure search performance. Google Analytics sessions, users, and engaged sessions measure website use. The two are reported separately throughout.
- The website form count covers only the messages visible in the connected mailbox between July 8 and July 24, 2026.
- The zero-call starting point and the prenup influx are both based on the firm attorney’s contemporaneous account of what the firm observed. Call tracking was not yet in place to independently establish the source of every call, and installing it is part of the next phase.
- Search was one contributor. Reputation, referrals, seasonality, the attorneys' background, intake, conversion, and firm operations all affected the outcome, and this document does not claim sole credit.
- Quotations are lightly edited for punctuation and verbal fillers only.
- Every market, practice area, and starting position behaves differently, and results vary accordingly.
A lot of attorneys already did
The work continues
Seven months in, this is an early-stage engagement with a foundation under it and a business signal the client can name.
The next phase is the harder one: continue building authority around complex and high net worth divorce, strengthen the pages that carry a financial researcher toward a consultation, protect and extend the prenup visibility already producing calls, install call and form attribution so qualified leads can be traced rather than inferred, convert the widening impression footprint into clicks, and adapt the firm’s strongest pages for conventional Google results and AI generated answers.
We are working with the firm on that phase now.
If your firm has real depth and a website that has never reflected it, seven months is roughly how long it takes to see the first signal. Let’s talk about what the first seven would look like in your market.
